JAN CARLSON | Email

Jan Carlson has been a quiltmaker for more than twenty years and freely admits her passion is appliqué. The love of the antique Baltimore Album Quilts led her and three of her friends to establish the Baltimore Appliqué Society to raise funds to help preserve antique quilts. Jan coordinated the first three of the Society’s museum fund raiser quilts and has served the group twice as President.

Her work has been exhibited at the Maryland Historical Society, DAR Museum gallery, and the Maryland State House. Jan teaches and lectures on appliqué quiltmaking and teaches a “quilt camp” for kids at the DAR Museum each summer. She lives in Severna Park, Maryland.
